The 30-Minute Weekly Marketing Routine That Actually Works

August 26, 2026

You're busy. You're on job sites 10 hours a day. You don't have time to "do marketing." I hear this from every contractor I talk to and I believe them. So here's the deal: 30 minutes a week. That's all I'm asking for. Set a timer on Tuesday morning with your coffee.

Minutes 1-10: Google Business Profile

Post one photo from a recent job. Write a 2-sentence caption. "Just finished this roof replacement in Rothesay. Cedar shingles, 25-year warranty." Done. Takes 3 minutes.

Then check if you have any new reviews. Respond to each one. "Thanks Mike, glad the crew took care of you" is fine. You don't need to write a novel. Just acknowledge it. 5 minutes tops.

Minutes 10-20: Ask for a review

Think of the last job you finished where the customer was clearly happy. Text them. "Hey [name], hope you're enjoying the new [thing]. If you have a minute, a Google review would mean a lot to us. Here's the link: [link]." Copy paste. Personalize the name. Send. Done.

Do this once a week and you'll have 50+ new reviews in a year. That alone can get you into the Map Pack.

Minutes 20-30: Check one thing

Rotate this weekly. One week, Google your main keyword and see where you rank. Next week, check your website on your phone and see if anything looks broken. Next week, look at what your top competitor posted on their GBP. Next week, jot down a customer question you got that week (that's a future blog post).

That's it. 30 minutes. No marketing degree required. No expensive tools. Just consistency. The contractors who do this every week for 6 months straight will absolutely bury the ones who "don't have time."
